What I'm wondering is whether vMix offers a similar feature - installation of a virtual audio device I can use as a junction between any program supporting output device selection and vMix, which already offers input device selection.

I've gotten this to work pretty well, but the only device I could find as a 'tie' between the two was a virtual microphone on my dev system present courtesy of a vMix competitor I was evaluating (I like vMix much better btw ). Output of a TeamSpeak channel would be funneled into a vMix audio input via a device.
I'm experimenting with TeamSpeak as a way to have a group of commentators chat about a race in progress.
